What
is the School Leadership Team?
SLTs are
school-based organizations composed of
an equal number of parents and staff.
They meet at least once a month, and
determine the structure for
school-based planning and shared
decision-making....The core
responsibility of each SLT is to
develop the school’s Comprehensive
Educational Plan (CEP) that is aligned
with the school-based budget.
SLTs are
strongly encouraged to solicit input
from various school community
constituencies in order to ensure that
all voices are heard regarding the
needs of students. Functioning in a

to evaluate the effectiveness of the
school’s educational programs and
their impact on student achievement.
SLTs receive support and guidance as

would you want to know about the
discussions and decisions being made
at the SLT meetings?
The
SLT makes decisions that will
directly impact your child's
educations at PS101.

I give my concerns to the SLT?
As a
parent the best way to communicate
educational concerns at PS101 is first
with your child's teacher, if concerns
are not resolved write and email /note
to the principal Mrs. Feder
at any time you
may choose to seek out a parent
representative on the SLT to voice
your concerns.
The
SLT does not discuss individuals
at theirs meetings. The SLT discusses
the broader issues of the educational
programs at PS101 and any concerns
associated with the CEP
The SLT
meets once a month and is comprised of
the Principal, P.A. President and the
U.F.T. Representative along with 5
parents and 4 staff members. The
parent position is a 2-year term. If
