FALL 2011
Dear Parents,
Welcome to a new year! We have so much to look forward to in the coming months for our children. For those of you who are returning, you know that we start out of the gates “running” with lots of activities in store for you and your families. For those of you who are new, please acquaint yourself with all of the reading materials that will come your way in the first couple of weeks. The information contained in the various mailings will help you to understand what is required of your children in school, and how you can best assist them in the coming year.
As a P.A. we believe in providing a nurturing environment that provides a home-away-from-home for our children. At 101, we laugh, joke, play games, experience nature, enjoy the arts, and so much more. Above all, we expect our children to study hard, be respectful of their teachers and classmates, have smiles on their faces each day, and enjoy learning.
We at 101 are ready to work and to play. Please keep our school calendar handy so that you are aware of all of the important dates and events throughout the year. Our calendar is full, and there is something for everyone to participate in throughout the year. We know that our children are involved in many activities…so we try to provide activities throughout the school year so that everyone can participate at some point.
What makes our school unique is the active participation of teachers, parents, staff, and administration. We supplement our school’s programs, materials, and facilities with donations collected from our fundraising campaign and many events. Whether you participate in a “run around the gym” or attend the Halloween Party, you can be sure your dollars are going back into the school.
Our P.A. is operated on a 100% volunteer basis. We are happy to now have the designation of a 501 (c) 3, public charity so your donations are tax deductible. Your donations may also be eligible for matching dollars, so please check that out at your places of business when you are planning to give. Dollars add up quickly with matching funds, and this year is a great time to investigate that opportunity at your workplace.
PLEASE get involved and VOLUNTEER so that we can continue to provide a wonderful experience for our children here at 101. We truly hope that those of you with young children will seize the opportunity to get involved…because it DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE! We, of course, depend on our continuing volunteers far too much, so we are looking for some new parents to “take the leap” and give a little bit of their time to help out in the school. Just ask, if you don’t know where to begin!
The door to the P.A. Office is always open. We look forward to seeing lots of you this year! Enjoy this great school!
Deb Dillingham, P.A. President
