Dear Fellow Parents,
All parents are invited to submit a letter
of application for membership on the School
Leadership Team (SLT).
What is the School Leadership Team?
The school leadership team (SLT) at P.S.101Q is our school-based group that works together to determine the school’s educational direction.
The SLT meets once a month for 2 hours and is composed of the P.A. President plus 5 additional parents, 4 teachers/staff, the U.F.T rep. and the principal.
We encourage representation from all areas of the school, including Special Education, ESL and all grade levels—Pre-K through 6.

We have 2 parent openings:
2 positions for 2010-2011, 2 years term
Team members are responsible for participating in the development of the school’s Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP) and the budget in a manner that supports collaboration by shared decision-making.
The SLT focuses on issues that effect children’s learning such as curriculum, professional development. Historically, meetings have been held from 2:15 PM to 4:15 PM on one Tuesday each month.

The SLT election will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010
All parents are eligible to participate, except as follows: in accordance with the Chancellor’s Regulations that conflicts of interest must be avoided. Department of Education employees are prohibited from serving as parent members of School Leadership Teams.
